About My Area UK

My Area UK is a free local-information hub. Type any UK postcode or town and see what the public record says about that place — the weather, recent crime, food-hygiene ratings, buses and trains, flood risk, house prices, population and age profile, deprivation, your MP, local council news, nearby amenities, registered businesses, energy efficiency, air quality, live fuel prices and the local jobs market — all on one page.

Everything here comes from free, official open data published by government bodies and public agencies, most of it under the Open Government Licence. We aggregate and present it; we don’t create it. Each panel names its source, and the data sources page lists every provider, how current the data is, and how we calculate the figures.

We are not affiliated with any government body. The data is provided for general information only and can contain errors or be out of date — always verify anything important (health services, flood warnings, legal or financial decisions) with the official source before relying on it.

Coverage

We cover England, Scotland and Wales at national, county, local-authority, town and postcode-district level. Some data sets are nation-specific: street-level crime and house prices are England & Wales only; deprivation uses the English Indices of Deprivation, the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation and the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation as appropriate. Where a data set doesn’t cover an area, we hide that panel rather than show a misleading blank.
